AGE: 86 • Toms River

Patrick J Greene, 86 of Toms River passed away peacefully on Saturday December 31, 2016 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. Born in Orange he resided in Berkeley Heights for 35 years before retiring to Toms River. He worked as a VP in the Financial Services Division and International Dept for AM Best Company for 40 years in Oldwick. He served in the Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Japan as a telegraph operator and officer club manager. Pat graduated from Immaculate Conception HS in Montclair and Seton Hall University in South Orange. Pat was active with Little Flower Church, the Stirling Elks, the Knights of Columbus, the Lions, a Boy Scout leader and PAL coach in Berkeley Heights. He was active with St. Vincent de Paul's food pantry and the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Toms River. Pat was known for his quick wit and turn of a phrase. He had a deep sense of faith, a steadfast work ethic, and a strong commitment to family that he passed on to his children and grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Andrew Greene & Margaret Logan, brother, John "Jack" Greene, daughter in-law, Regina Foster Greene and granddaughter Kelsey Greene. Surviving are his beloved wife of 59 years, Rosemary Lynch, five children and their families: Michael Greene and his wife Tracy, Mary Kay Ross and her husband Win, Brian Greene and his wife Clare, Patricia "Kelly" Squizzero and her husband Paul and Colleen Cooper and her husband John and 11 grandchildren: Shannon, Patrick and Kevin Greene, Jack and Colleen Ross, Sydney and Haley Zeszotarski, Marc and Caroline Squizzero, and Katie and Lainey Cooper and 2 great granddaughters: Regine and Margot LeDuke. He is also survived by his brothers Andy Greene and Charlie Greene and sisters, Marion Staub, Peggy Codey and Kathy Scardilli and their families and numerous cousins in the U.S. and Northern Ireland. Viewing is Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 4 to 8 pm at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road in Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 10:30 am at St. Mary of the Lake Church, 43 Madison Ave. (Rte. 9) Lakewood, NJ, 08701.
