AGE: 80 • Surf City

Patrick J. Magee, 80, of Surf City, passed away Friday, September 22, 2017, at RWJ University Hospital, Hamilton.

Born in Trenton, he was a Trenton area resident until moving to Surf City several years ago. A Graduate of Trenton Catholic Boys High School, St. Joseph's College, Philadelphia, PA, and a member of the U.S. Naval Reserve, Patrick was a retired Director at Mercer County Board of Social Services, Trenton, where a section of the Board of Social Services was named in his honor as the "Patrick J. Magee Workforce Development Center". He was a longtime member of Our Lady of the Angels Parish, Trenton, and the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Msgr. Crean Division, Hamilton. He was Past-President of the County Welfare Directors Association of NJ, the National Secretary American Public Welfare Association, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Mercer County Geriatric Center, was President and Hunt Captain of the Sportsmen's Fish and Game Protective Association, a NJ State, NY State and United States Champion roller skater, a US Amateur Roller Skating Association Bronze, Silver, and Gold Dance Judge and taught roller skating at Capitol Rink, Trenton. He coached baseball and softball at Hamilton Little Lads, Hamilton Babe Ruth and Cook AA and coached ice hockey at Lawrence Hockey Association.

Son of the late Francis "Pat" and Frances A. Marren Magee, he is survived by his wife of 50 years Isabelle M. Doyle Magee, his children Michele (Justin) Sciarra, Maureen (Shawn) McCloud, Patrick (Cheri) Magee, Michael (Sarah) Magee and Kevin Magee, his grandchildren Shannon, Patrick, Kerry, Matthew, Emma, Andrew, Sophia, Angela, Isabelle, Maggie and Sadie, his sister Mary (James) Conlon, his sisters-in-law Margaret McGuire, Susan (David) Zola, and Doris Whitman, his brothers-in-law Henry Doyle and Thomas (Roseann) Doyle and several nieces, nephews and god children. He was also pre-deceased by his sisters-in-law Nan, Mary, Mae, Winifred and Sheila Doyle and Maureen Kennedy and brothers-in-law Raymond McGuire, Raymond Whitman and Donald Kennedy.

Funeral services will be Thursday, September 28, 2017, at 8:30 AM from Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Ave., Hamilton (www.Kingstonand Kemp.com). Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of the Angels Parish at Immaculate Conception Church, 540 Chestnut Ave., Trenton.

Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, 400 Woolsey St., Hamilton.

Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday from 3 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
