Paul Martin Malecki Obituary
Paul Martin Malecki

AGE: 96 • Berkeley Twp.

Paul Martin Malecki, age 96, Berkeley Twp., NJ died Monday in Manchester, NJ.

Paul was born on December 13, 1919 in Newark, NJ to Walter and Rose Malecki. He was predeceased by his beloved siblings Edward, Helyn and Edwin. The family endured the Great Depression by taking odd jobs to help support the household. He met his beloved wife of 66 years, Agnes Schwindinger at Twin City roller rink in Elizabeth, NJ. A veteran of WWII, he served in the Army Air Corps where he was stationed in the Pacific Theater. After returning from duty, they soon married and settled in Rahway, NJ and lovingly raised their three daughters, Linda (Vito) Mangani, Janet, and Karen (William) Dunn. A skilled machinist and turret lathe operator, Paul went on to become Plant Manager of Schnitzer Alloy Stainless Steel Products before retiring to Toms River in 1985.

A devout Catholic, he was a communicant of St. Marks Church in Rahway and later St. Maximilian Kolbe. Paul was a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus attaining the rank of Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator. He was also an active member of the VFW. Aside from being the true inventor of the 'bean bag' game, he had a passion for travel, the outdoors, singing, bocce and family, all of which he endearingly chronicled through 7,000 photo-slides spanning nearly 40 years.

Paul also leaves behind loving grandchildren Ron, Christa, Addam, Michelle, Bill, Kris and Corey, 11 great-grandchildren 5 nieces, a nephew and many cousins and friends.

Should a person's true wealth be measured by the good they have done and the example they have set, Paul leaves behind riches beyond compare. He will be missed greatly. Visiting will be Thursday December 8th from 4 pm to 7:30 pm at the Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will offered 9:15 am Friday at St. Maximilian Kolbe R. C. Church, Berkeley Twp. Burial Will Follow at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.
