Paul Walter Otto, III, 71, of Little Silver died peacefully on Wednesday, August 30, 2017.

Funeral Services will be held 4PM Saturday at Hancliffe Home for Funerals, 222 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, NJ 07936. Visiting hours are Saturday 2-4PM. hancliffehomeforfunerals.com

Born in Caldwell, he resided in Mendham Twp. before moving to Little Silver 17 years ago.

A graduate of Johns Hopkins University with a BS and Florida State University with an MS degree, Paul owned and operated the Paul Otto Building Co. for 40 years prior to his retirement in 2009.

He is a member of the Essex County Contractors Association. Paul is Past Master and Lodge Secretary of Colonial Prospect Lodge #24 F.&A.M in Chester.

He began playing bagpipes with the Caldwell De Molay Pipe Band in the 1960's and continued his love of piping as a member of both the Masonic Kilties of NJ Pipes & Drums and the Atlantic Watch Pipe Band until his passing.

Paul is also a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying at every opportunity.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Power), by a son, Ryan Otto and wife, Allison of Hamilton, by two grandchildren, Alexa and Kevin Otto and by a sister, Kathleen Mc Dowell of Harwick, MA.

Memorial donations to the are preferred in lieu of flowers.
