The Honorable Peter A Ryan

AGE: 51 • Barnegat

The Honorable Peter A. Ryan, age 51, of Barnegat, died Sunday, June 4 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Red Bank, he grew up in Matawan prior to moving to Barnegat with his loving wife Jennifer in 2005.

Peter was a graduate of St. John Vianney High School, Seton Hall University, and Ohio Northern University Law School. For over a decade he served as both an Assistant Prosecutor and Senior Assistant Prosecutor with the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office prior to becoming a NJ Superior Court Judge.

For Peter, his family was his world and he took great pride in coaching his three daughters in softball, soccer and basketball. They shined in his eyes each and every day.

Peter was an amazing husband, father, brother, son and friend. No words can express the depth of his courage and his heart. His love for his family was truly a joy to behold. The loss that we feel is immeasurable.

He was predeceased by his parents, Bertram and Rose Mary Ryan.

Peter is survived by his beloved wife of 14 years, Jennifer, three loving daughters, Catey, Molly and Samantha; two sisters, Annmarie Romanski and her husband, Michael, Manasquan; and Cathy Dryden and her husband, Leonard, Flemington; father in law and mother in law, Senator James and Joyce Holzapfel, Toms River; and brother in law and sister in law, Dennis and Jenny Holzapfel, Toms River.
