AGE: 88 • Manville

Peter L. Viola, 88, passed away peacefully at RWJ Medical Center at Somerset in Somerville, NJ. He was born in Raritan, NJ the son of the late Pasquale and Italia Viola. Mr. Viola was a resident of Manville, NJ for the past 65 years. He graduated from Somerville High School in 1947 and had attended both Rutgers and Fairleigh Dickenson Universities. Mr. Viola was married at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church on November 11, 1951 to his wife of over 65 years Frances (Kisaday) .

He was a longtime employee of American Cyanamid/Cytec Industries before retiring in 1990. Mr. Viola was also a member of the American Cyanamid 25 year club. He was a founding member and former leading Knight of the Manville-Hillsborough Elks #2119. Mr. Viola was also active with the Elks youth baseball team. He was an avid gardener and could often be seen mowing his lawn, pruning his shrubs and tending his garden, sharing his harvest with family, neighbors and friends. He was also an avid car enthusiast. Mr. Viola was a member of Christ the King Roman Catholic Church (Christ the Redeemer Parish) in Manville, NJ. He was predeceased by two brothers Joseph Viola and James Viola and by one sister Josephine Andreotta.

He is survived by his wife Frances K. Viola of Manville, NJ, by his two sons Dr. Barry Viola of Manville, NJ and Jeffrey Viola and his wife Bonnie of Manalapan, NJ and by his cherished granddaughter Adrienne. He is also survived by a brother Walter Viola and by a sister Maryann (Viola).

The visitation will be on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 from 7 to 9 PM at the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ. The Funeral will be on Thursday, June 29, 2017 8:00 AM from the Ketusky Funeral Home followed by a 9:00 AM Mass at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church in Manville, NJ. Entombment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery Mausoleum in Bridgewater, NJ.
