Philip R. Russo Obituary
Philip R. Russo

Age 92 of Bear, DE, formally of Marlboro, NJ, passed away February 11, 2017 surrounded by his loving family at the home he shared with his daughter and son, Carmela and Gerard Russo.

Born in Brooklyn, NY on July 31, 1924, he was predeceased by his wife, Josephine who passed away in July 2016. Philip retired from Lily Tulip Cup Corp. when he was in his early 50s and went on to pursue other interests, including a very successful catering business, which was always a family affair. Philip was an active member of the Matawan Italian American Association for over 20 years where he leaves behind many, many beloved friends. Truly exhibiting a "joie de vivre," he embraced life and never missed the opportunity to share his wisdom with friends, family, and even strangers. Revered by his family and friends, he will be sorely missed. Philip was also an avid fan of Horse Racing, he always enjoyed and looked forward to his Saturdays at Delaware Park.

Philip is survived by his sisters, Enis Bellofiore of SC and Mary Bilotti of Las Vegas; sons, Philip Russo, Jr. of Las Vegas, Gerard Russo of DE, and Domenic Russo of NJ; daughters, Carmela Russo of DE and Lucy Lester of CA; Heather Russo of NJ, wife of predeceased son, Peter Russo; grandchildren, Christina Freer, Sean Seber, Amanda Russo, Sal Russo, Theresa Felde, Philip Cosentino, Tony Russo, and Tyler Russo; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Donald Freer, Seanie and Lia Seber, Christina Russo, Alex Russo, Michael and Meagan Russo, and Charlie Colon.

A repast will be from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Matawan Italian American Association, 1374 NJ-36, Hazlet, NJ 07730. Anyone wanting to join us in the celebration is welcome and encouraged to help us celebrate Philip's life, as he touched and left an impression with everyone he came in contact with.
