AGE: 92 •

Ralph L D'Ambrosio passed away in Glassboro on Thursday, September 7, at the age of 92. Prior to that he was a long-time resident of Neptune for almost 60 years. Born in Trenton, Ralph was a graduate of Trenton High School and Rider College earning a degree in Accounting.

Ralph served in the Army from 1943-1945 as a PFC with the 88th Infantry Division stationed in Italy during WWII. Here he earned the American Theater Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Ribbon with three Bronze Service Stars, the Purple Heart, and the Distinguished Unit Badge for bravery. From 1950-1953, he also served as an Army corporal stationed in Virginia during the Korean War.

His employment history includes his assignment to the Commercial Fraud Division with the Internal Revenue Service in Pittsburg PA before transferring to Asbury Park NJ. Eventually he was hired at Fort Monmouth as a government civilian in the Procurement Directorate where he worked for thirty years before retiring in 1974. Ralph was also a Certified Public Accountant later working with the firms of Bugni, LaBanca and Paduano in Oakhurst and Reussile, Carotenuto, Barger, Kenny and Steel in Red Bank in addition to operating a private practice in Neptune where he specialized in tax law. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 346 in Neptune.

A devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather Ralph leaves behind his daughter, Mary Anne Linder, husband Richard, and their children, Stephanie and Vanessa. He is also survived by his son, Joseph D'Ambrosio, wife Anne, their daughter, Michelle Failor, and her children, Jacob and Anthony; their son, Michael, wife Kim, and their children, Carmen and Lorenzo; and their daughter, Christina Presutto, husband Brad, and her children, Benjamin, Brooklyn, and Brianna. Also surviving is his youngest son, Ralph D'Ambrosio, wife Linda, and their children, Christopher and Lindsay.

Ralph was predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Dorothy, who died a year prior as well by as his parents, Giuseppe and Filomena D'Ambrosio, and his sister, Restituta "Wray" Garrison.

Friends and family are invited to attend the viewing from 4 to 6 PM on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at the Ely Funeral Home, Neptune. The funeral mass will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Holy Innocents Church, Neptune. The interment will follow in Mt Calvary Cemetery, Neptune.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Greenfield Senior Center, 3152 Glassboro-Cross Keys Road in Glassboro, NJ 08028 where Ralph resided the past few years.
