AGE: 84 •

Raymond John DiFrancesco, age 84, of Ewing died Friday, January 13, 2017 at Compassionate Care Hospice At Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital of Hamilton, NJ.

Mr. DiFrancesco was born February 1, 1932 in Philadelphia, PA. He moved to the area when he attended Rider College where he graduated from receiving both his Bachelor's degree and his Master's degree. He retired from the Ewing Lawrence Sewage Authority as its executive director in 1997 after more than 20 years of dedicated employment, and was also a Chairman of the Board. Prior to that he was employed with the Delaware River Basin Commission for about 10 years. Aside from that he also was an Associate Professor at both Rider College and the College of New Jersey.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, being honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant in 1952.

Raymond was a member of the Ewing Kiwanis, and was formerly very involved with the Lavalette Yacht Club having served as a past commodore. He loved to travel and play golf.

Son of the late Joseph and Mary (DeRemiggio) DiFrancesco; brother of the late Joseph J. DiFrancesco; Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Gertrude (Szilagy) DiFrancesco; his son, Raymond DiFrancesco; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Shinn DiFrancesco; his niece, Jennifer DiFrancesco and husband J.T. Paulk; two great nieces, Elisabeth and Margaret Paulk; a great nephew, Andrew Paulk; and other family members and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. George R.C. Church, 1370 River Rd., Titusville, NJ. Burial will be private. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday morning at the church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Parkside Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 1584 Parkside Ave., Ewing, NJ 08638. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Raymond's memory to either St. George R.C.
