Raymond Joseph Langbein ,83, of Belmar, passed away on March 5 at the Tower Lodge Care Center in Wall Twp. Mr. Langbein was born in Orange to Lawrence and Elizabeth Mundweiler Langbein. He was raised in Vailsburg, Newark and had been a resident of Belmar since 1971. He attended Seton Hall Prep in South Orange and served proudly in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Upon completion of his service commitment he graduated from the University of Georgia where he majored in Chemistry. Mr. Langbein had worked as a Paint Chemist for Egyptian Lacquer Mfg. Co., Kearny before leaving to open Belmar Paint and Decorating in Belmar in 1972. He also was a partner with his brother Lawrence for many years in a real-estate partnership.

Mr. Langbein was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Belmar Fishing Club and past member of the Belmar Elks. He enjoyed his large extended family, traveling and spending Februarys in his adopted second home of Aruba where he made many friends over the years.

Mr. Langbein is predeceased by his siblings, Kenneth, Joan, Vincent and Lawrence Langbein, Blanche Kimler and Virginia Franco.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Helene (Nagy), his son Raymond J. Langbein Jr. of Belmar, his siblings and their spouses, Richard and Anita Langbein of West Windsor, Eugene Langbein of Columbus, James Langbein of Wanamassa, Elizabeth Garlinger of Wanamassa and Thomas and Pam Langbein of Branchburg as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Thursday March 16 from 4-8pm at the Reilly Bonner Funeral Home, 801 D Street, Belmar NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday March, 17 at 10 AM at Saint Rose of Lima RC Church, Belmar. Committal will follow at Saint Anne Cemetery, Wall Twp.
