Richard Daniel Vineburg Obituary
Richard Daniel Vineburg

AGE: 53 • Green Bay, WI

Richard Daniel Vineburg, a resident of Green Bay, Wisconsin since 2000, was born on June 17, 1963 in Long Branch, New Jersey, to Roma Mimi and Donald R. Vineburg. He graduated from Ocean Township High School (NJ), the College of Boca Raton, and Broward College, Florida. Richard was a Travel Consultant in Florida until illness forced his retirement, at which time he moved to be near his family in Wisconsin.

Richard had a passion for entertainment and current events. He loved Broadway shows, especially Rent and Wicked and all things Disney. He was an outspoken advocate for civil rights, especially GLBTQ issues, and enjoyed debating politics with all who would listen.

Richard had many physical challenges in his life but managed to defy the odds and bring along many lessons to share with others as well. His motto in life was "don't sweat the small stuff" and he encouraged others to be happy with their portion and encouraged everyone to go out of their way to love each other as well.

He was a member of the Northeast Wisconsin and the Democratic Party.

Richard is survived by his father, Donald R. Vineburg; his brothers Rabbi Dr. Sidney (Devorah Hannah) Vineburg of Oak Park, Michigan and John (Lisa Thierman) Rubano of New Jersey. He is further survived by his three beloved nephews, Dr. Michael (Sari) Vineburg, Rabbi Benjamin (Devorah Rivka) Vineburg and Isaac Vineburg. He was particularly grateful that he was able to meet and know his great-nephews, Nesanel Leib Vineburg, Adam Bennet Vineburg and Donald R Vineburg II. He also cherished his beloved aunt, Charlotte Vineburg, his cousins, concerned former classmates, and more recently his dedicated and compassionate caretakers, many with whom he created special friendships.

Richard was predeceased by his mother, Roma Mimi Vineburg, an uncle, Dr. Ira S. Vineburg and his Aunt and Uncle, Lucille and Edwin Colodin.

A grave-side service will take place at Temple Beth El Cemetery, Neptune, New Jersey, on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 1 pm officiated by Rabbi Schoenbraun and Rabbi Benjamin Vineburg and shiva will be held at the home of Rabbi Dr. and Mrs. Sidney Vineburg in Oak Park, Michigan.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ely Funeral Home, Neptune.

Contributions in Richard's memory may be sent to the Northeast Wisconsin , 2625 Development Drive,

#10, Green Bay, WI 54311.
