Richard Edward Kostbar Sr. Obituary
Richard Edward Kostbar Sr.

AGE: 80 • Howell

Richard Edward Kostbar, Sr., 80, of Howell passed away due to heart failure early in the morning on Saturday, July 22, 2017. He lived in Englishtown until his retirement to Kentucky, returning to New Jersey in December of 2016. He did much volunteer work ranging from coaching girl's soccer in Manalapan to Habitat for Humanity. Richard served on the USS Price and was in the Navy from 1954-1958, attaining the rank of Radioman 3rd Class. He then worked as an electronics technician at Lakehurst Naval Air Station until his retirement in 1992. Always concerned for others, he was the perfect husband and father.

Richard leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Helen Kostbar of Howell; his sons, Ric Kostbar and his wife, Charlene of Howell, and Steve Kostbar and his wife, Sharon of Howell; daughter, Teri Kostbar of Lakewood; three grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.

He now dwells in glory with his Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 10:9-13, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth in him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 8:30 to 10:30 AM with his 11:30 AM funeral service to follow in Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown. For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
