AGE: 90 • Pt. Pleasant

Richard Henry DeVenero 90, of Pt. Pleasant, NJ died Friday, November 25, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Bronx, NY, Richard lived in Brick, before moving to Pt. Pleasant 20 years ago. He was an electrician with IBEW Local 400, Wall. Richard served in the US Navy during World War II. He was a 4th degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus # 836, Brick, NJ. Richard was a parishioner of Visitation Church, Brick. He was a member of the High Steppers Square Dance Club, where he and his wife traveled with the club. He loved to fish, take care of his koi ponds and relax with his dog. Richard loved to travel with his wife Susan in their mobile home throughout the continental US, Mexico and Canada. Richard loved spending time with family, especially his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years Susan DeVenero, 4 children; Frances Lee of Seaside Park, NJ, Susan Denise Cervone of Bellport, NY, Richard James DeVenero and his wife Marsha of Byram, NJ, Mary E. Hill and her husband David of Barnegat, NJ, 12 grandchildren; Debbie Cagliostro, Richard J. Lee, Michael D. Lee, Jennifer P. Cervone, Amanda D. Cervone, Susan D. DeVenero, Kimberly C. DeVenero, Rinni R. DeVenero, Richard A. DeVenero, Kristi Hayes, Emily Hill and David Hill Jr. He also leaves 5 great grandchildren; Lauren Cagliostro, Andrew Cagliostro, Madeline Lee, Skylar Lee, Audrey Lee and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visiting will be Monday, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Rd., Brick. A Funeral Service will be Tuesday, 11 AM at the funeral home. Committal will be private. To send condolences or to send flowers please visit
