Richard "Rick" Tetzlaff Obituary
Richard "Rick" Tetzlaff

AGE: 71 • Holiday City West, Berkeley Twp.

Richard "Rick" Tetzlaff, 71, died on October 25, 2017.

Born and raised in Jersey City, he attended St. Aedan's Grammar School, Dickinson High School and Jersey City State College. He later lived in Bayonne, Hillside and Toms River before moving to Holiday City West in 2005.

His professional career included numerous retail and trucking companies and then the US Post Office in Toms River, where he retired from in 2008.

Rick was a jovial, fun-loving man who brightened up your day with his comic sense of humor but he was also the most considerate and caring man who would help out anyone at any time. He deeply cared for people and animals and would always offer to help in any way he could. He was loved by all. But the most love he had was for his family - they were everything to him.

Rick was predeceased by his parents and brother, Gertrude, Richard and Gerald Tetzlaff. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Mary Ann; his two sons and their wives, Jim and Nikki and Scott and Angela; his daughter and her husband, Jeanie and Casey Bruton; his five granddaughters, Cassie, Rachael, Jill, Lindsey and Allison; and his four grand-puppies, Finn, Emma, Lexi and Lyla.

The family will receive friends Sunday, October 29, 2017 2:00pm until the funeral service at 6:00pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River.
