Robert James Madden 86 of Jackson, died Saturday, March 18, at home. Born in Paterson, he lived in Garfield for 35 years, and Manchester for 22 years before moving to Jackson a year and a half ago. He was employed for 30 years as a truck driver for Central Motor Lines, Clifton before retiring in 1985. He belonged to the Teamsters, Local #560, Union City. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a parishioner of St John's Church, Lakehurst. He served as Lieutenant with the Garfield Fire Department for many years. While residing in Leisure Knoll, Manchester, he served as President with the Leisure Knoll Organ Club. He also belonged to the Fishing Club, the Friday Brunswick Bowling Team, and was a volunteer with Helping Hands and RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program). He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Dolores (Marynowski) Madden, 2 daughters and their husbands, Teri and Bill Grus of Newton, Denise and Steven Thiel of Jackson, 7 grandchildren, Edward, Robert, and his wife Jaime, Jennifer, and her husband Michael, Amber, and Brittany, and 5 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Marissa, Logan, Robert, and Danika. Visitation is Wednesday from 9:30-11:30 am at the Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, followed by a Funeral Liturgy offered at 12 noon at St John's Church, Lakehurst. Interment will follow at the Brigadier Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to .
