AGE: 86 • Clearwater ,FL

Robert Ladislas Kernasovic, 86, of Clearwater, Florida, formerly of Pine Beach, NJ, passed away in Florida on September 20, 2017. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and was a proud Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War. Robert worked at NAEC Lakehurst as a civilian for many years. He then worked for Ocean County Weights & Measures as a Superintendent, retiring in 2001. Robert was past president and member of the Toms River Regional Board of Education for 22 years, a past chief, past president and member of Pine Beach Fire Company for 40 years, a patrolman for the Boro of Pine Beach, and a member of the American Legion, Post 275 in Dunedin, Florida. Robert was a Little League coach and Pop Warner football coach for many years and was instrumental in starting Bitty Basketball. Robert gave so much to his community and enjoyed his life with his family, especially his grandchildren, and will be dearly missed. Robert was predeceased by his first wife Gertrude Kernasovic, and his brother Emil Kern. He is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Florence Kernasovic, his sister Elisabeth Miller of Parma, Ohio and his 7 children and stepchildren: Janet Henrichs of Pine Beach, Robert Kernasovic Jr. and his wife Kelly of Beachwood, David and his wife Maria of Pine Beach, Patricia Block and her husband David of Bayville, Gloria and her husband Earl of Virginia, Kathryn Diaz and her husband Raymond of Whitehouse Station, NJ, and Raymond Kelly of Melbourne, Florida. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 26, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 11AM at St. Barnabas RC Church in Bayville. Burial will be immediately following at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. Family and friends are invited to visit to leave tributes to his family.
