AGE: 82 • Avon

Mr. Robert M. Ennis , 82, of Avon, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on October 28 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.

Robert was a master craftsman and worked as a cabinet maker for Macy's in Raritan Center before retiring. He was a parishioner of Saint Elizabeth of Hungary RC Church in Avon , where he was an usher and a member of the Holy Name Society. Robert served on the Avon Library Board and was an exempt member of the Avon Fire Department. He was born in Elizabeth and lived in Glen Ridge before moving to Avon 44 years ago. He was a First Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 253 of Elizabeth NJ.

Robert was predeceased by his wife Helen Shelia Ennis and his parents, James R. and Helen Kirby Ennis. He is survived by his daughters and their spouses, Norah and John Magrini of Avon, Meghan and Keith Page of Avon, Clare and Michael Murphy of Florham Park and Helen Ennis of New York City, his 9 grandchildren, Emily and Brendan Magrini, Michael, Caroline and Elizabeth Page and Colette, Bridget, Mike Jr. and Hailey Murphy, his 2 brothers , James Ennis of Bluffton SC ,and Michael Ennis of Middletown RI ,and his sister, Margaret Meyer of Fanwood NJ.

Visitation will be on Monday from 6 to 8 PM at the Reilly Bonner Funeral Home, 801 D Street Belmar NJ.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday October 31 at 11:00 AM at Saint Elizabeth of Hungary RC Church, 424 Lincoln Ave. Avon NJ. Committal will follow at Saint Catharine Cemetery, Sea Girt.
