AGE: 71 • Eatontown

Robert "Bob" Osterholz, 71, a longtime resident of Eatontown passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017 with his two daughters by his side. He was born in Port Jefferson, NY to the late Diedrich and Elizabeth Osterholz. He grew up in Madison before serving 4 years in the US Navy. On Nov. 30, 1968, he married Kathryn McDonough and moved to Eatontown. They spent 44 years together raising and dedicating their lives to their children. Kathy preceded him in death in Jan. 2013. He worked at Bendix for a few years before starting his career as an elevator constructor at Otis Elevator. He was employed there for 35 years before retiring Nov. 2007. He was a member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors, Local #1.

He is remembered most for his ability to tell jokes, stories, and make people laugh. He always put family first and was willing to help anyone who needed it.

He was the devoted father of his two daughters, Carrie and husband Sean Collins and Heather Osterholz. He is also survived by brothers, Richard of Florida and Peter of Oklahoma, and brother in law Donald McDonough of Madison. along with several nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Please join us on Sat. May 6th to celebrate his life at MJ's Restaurant, 1213 Sycamore Ave, Tinton Falls, from 12 to 4:30 p.m. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the in Bob's memory.
