AGE: 90 • Point Pleasant

Robert P. Herrman, 90, passed away on April 1, 2017 at Morristown Medical Center surrounded by family and loved ones.

Born in Paterson, NJ he lived in Clifton and Middletown before moving to Point Pleasant, NJ.

Robert served honorably in the Navy during WWII and received several metals, including the American Theater Medal, Victory Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal, and the Asiatic Pacific Medal.

He was employed as a salesman, however his greatest passion was music and he played as a drummer in several bands throughout the tri-state area. He played with jazz greats such as Jack Six, Les Burness, Paul Quichette, Walt Penny and Tal Farlow. He was a member of the American Federation of Musicians Union Local #399 in Central NJ. He was an avid sports fan and coached Little League baseball in the Middletown Youth Athletic Association, Middletown, NJ.

He was predeceased by his father and mother, Ernest and Mercedes (Donellan) Herrman, his brother Jerard Herrman and one grandson Christopher Joseph Herrman.

He is survived by his beloved wife Helene G. Herrman; five sons, Jeffrey Herrman of AZ, Kevin Herrman of FL, Brian Herrman of CT, Patrick Herrman of AL, Joseph Herrman of TX, and three step children; Theodore Kuhn of NJ, Katherine Ruth of CT, and John Kuhn of NJ. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; nine step grandchildren; one great grandchild and two great step grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday April 8, 2017 from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd., Mendham, NJ. Funeral Mass Saturday 10:30 am at St. Joseph Church, Mendham. Interment Hilltop Cemetery, Mendham.
