Robert V. Royle, 57, of Brick and Forked River, NJ passed away Friday, December 5, 2014

Born and raised in Lakewood, NJ, he graduate from Lakewood High School in 1975 and attended Glassboro State College. He later lived in Toms River before moving to Brick in 1983.

Bob worked at the Ocean County Corrections Department and the New Jersey Bureau of Parole, retiring as a Senior Parole Officer in 1997.

In 2006, he and his wife, Patty, purchased the Rivers Edge Marina and established a bed and breakfast in 2008.

He was a member of the Fishhawks, Reclam the Bay, the Jersey Coast Shark Anglers and the First Presbyterian Church of Lakewood.

Bob loved the water, being out on his boats and fishing. He also loved to ski.

He was a great cook and everyone loved his breakfasts and stories at the bed and breakfast. He was always willing to help someone out and will be greatly missed.

Bob is predeceased by his parents, Caryl and James Royle, his father in law George Christian, Sr., and his brother in law Thomas Christian, Sr.

He is much loved and survived by his wife of 35 years, Patricia "Patty" E. Christian, his sisters and brothers, Leslie Eaton of Lakewood, Gayle Welly and husband Raymond of Toledo, Ohio, Marjorie Royle of Lakewood, Dr. James and wife Nancy of Jackson, Richard and wife Jennifer of Colts Neck, his mother in law Connie Christian of Toms River, brothers in law George Christian, Jr. of Brick, Paul Christian of Fairplay, Colorado, sister in law Kelly Christian of Lawrenceville, 15 nieces and nephews, 6 great nieces and nephews and his dog, Jane.

The family will receive friends Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River. A funeral service will be offered Wednesday 11:00am at the First Presbyterian Church of Lakewood.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Popcorn Park Zoo, Reclam the Bay or the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean.
