Robert Weston was born on September 10, 1924, and died at his home in West Long Branch, NJ, surrounded by family, on Sunday, September 17, 2017. Robert was a lifelong resident of New Jersey, making homes continuously along the Jersey shore. Bob was an outstanding athlete at Long Branch High School, and was inducted into that school's Athletic Hall of Fame. Mr. Weston served in the Army Air Corp during WWII, and was trained as a bombardier on the B-17 Flying Fortress. Bob attended Panzer College of Physical Education and Hygiene (now Montclair State University), and in his early career taught math and physical education. Robert also taught tennis, and lifeguarded at the former Colony Beach club, which is where he met his bride of 69 years, Cynthia Joy Weber. For the last 40+ years Bob has been a sole practioner financial planner and investment advisor for his own firm. Tennis was Robert's passion, and Bob was a ranked amateur tennis player for most of his adult life, including being ranked #1 in the United States Tennis Association Eastern Seaboard Men's Division for 65 and over. Bob once traveled to Israel to represent the United States in men's singles and doubles tennis at the Maccabiah games winning a bronze medal.

Robert is survived by his wife, Cynthia Joy Weston, and six children (Steve Weston, James Weston, Bonnie Sobo-Novick, Beth Weston-Knotts, Susan Weston McMillan and Cindy Weston Rodgers). Bob also leaves behind a legacy of 19 grandchildren ( Ivan Weston, Stacey Weston-Consiglio, Howie Weston, Louis Sobo, Matthew Sobo, Timothy Sobo, Lance Weston, Ryan Weston, Jillian Weston, Katie Weston, Sean Weston, Liam Weston, Jacob Knotts, Sierra Knotts, Eilea Knotts, Kiralee Knotts, Connor McMillan, Grayson McMillan, Kaelianna McMillan) and 10 great grandchildren ( Aiden Consiglio, Laina Consiglio, Charlotte Sobo, Elliot Sobo, Madden Weston, Jace Weston, Marley Weston, Stephanie Sobo, Harrison Sobo and Hunter Knotts.) A service is scheduled for Tuesday, September 19th, at Bloomfield Cooper Funeral Chapel in Ocean Township at 12:30 pm with internment to immediately follow at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge, NJ. The family will be receiving visitors at 10 Weston Way. West Long Branch, NJ following internment until 9:00 PM and on Wednesday the 20th from 1:00-3:00 PM.
