AGE: 78 • East Orange

Rocco P. Orlando, Sr. passed away on November 17, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. The visitation with take place at the LaMonica Memorial Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Livings ton, on Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 2-6 pm. Friends and relatives are invited to the Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, November 21, 2016 at 9:30 am in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Ridgewood followed by the entombment in Garden of Memories Cemetery in the Township of Washington.

Rocco was born in Orange, NJ 78 years ago and grew up in East Orange, NJ. He attended Holy Name Gram mar School and Clifford Scott High School where he starred in baseball and earned a full scholarship to Seton Hall University where he graduated with a BS in accounting and a Master's degree in Business Adminis tration. After college, Rocco served two years as a First Lieutenant in the Army and returned to NJ to teach accounting and bookkeep ing first at Carteret High School and then Verona High School where he was a baseball coach on one of the school's Hall of Fame teams. Rocco became the assistant business administrator for the Wayne School District before becoming the School Business Administrator at Chatham Township School District and later the School District of the Chathams. He later was the interim Business Administrator for Tinton Falls. Rocco was pre deceased by his parents Filo mena (nee Maglione) Orlan do & Lawrence J. Orlando, Sr., sisters Carmela Kimber & Josephine Orlando. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Ann Carol (nee Micchelli) Orlando; daugh ters Lisa Orlando-Gagnon/Andre, Regina Orlando/Syl via Elauria; sons Rocco P. Orlando, Jr./Kathleen & Jo seph Orlando/Meredith and eight grandchildren - Nich olas, Roxanne, Ariel Fay, Samuel, Michael, Frank, Marco & Luke, sisters Mary Wellnitz, Rose Walsh-Dale, Ann McNeill, brothers Lawrence J. Orlando, Jr. and Richard Orlando as well as many nieces and nephews.

Rocco loved woodworking, Boy Scouts, camping, boat ing and sailing at the Shore and spending time with fam ily and friends. He was ad mired and respected by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, kindly make a con tribution to St. Jude's Chil dren's Research Hospital, the of Research or a .
