Ronald Russell Murphy Sr. Obituary
Ronald Russell Murphy, Sr.

AGE: 76 • formerly of Old Bridge

Born April 8, 1936 to Walter & Agnes in Perth Amboy N.J. Ron passed away peacefully holding his daughter's hand on Monday, Sept. 17, 2012. He is now in the house of the Lord in the company of the love of his life and wife of 52 years, Antoinette and faithful dog, Casey. He will be missed tremendously by his loving family: son, Ron (wife Patty); daughter, Kim (husband Joe) Martin; grandchildren, Matt, Joey (wife Katie), Kayla (husband Daniel), Nicki (husband Jon) & Lauren (husband Jonny); great-grandchildren, Riley, Gavin, Petra, Gabe & Charlie-Antoinette; brothers, Buddy (wife Ruth) & Billy (wife Renie) Murphy; brother-in-law, Mike Calantoni & sister-in-law, Mary Nelson.

Everyone will miss having long interesting conversations with him & hearing his funny jokes. Besides spending time with his family and friends he enjoyed collecting Hess Trucks, going to Englishtown Auction & Raceway Park, muscle cars, tattoos & listening to country music. He was a very proud longtime member of the Teamsters Local 701 Union and worked at various trucking companies as a dock worker. He lived in Old Bridge, NJ before retiring to Thomasville, NC. Throughout his many bouts with severe illnesses including heart disease, he never complained and showed great strength while defying all the odds over and over again. A True Tough Guy! He was always the "go to guy" when you had a problem and we will miss his wisdom, guidance, generosity & heart of gold. But we will never forget him and he will continue to inspire us when we reflect upon our memories of this great Man, Our Dad, Our Grandpop, Our Brother & Our Friend. Rest in Peace & Love You Dad… and if you get to read this Dad, hope you say "Well, no one can complain about that!".
