Rosaleen DeBonis Obituary
Rosaleen DeBonis

AGE: 85 • Elberon

Rosaleen DeBonis passed away peacefully at home at the age of 85 on November 2, 2017. Born March 16th, in Glasgow, Scotland she emigrated to the USA in her early 20's and lived the rest of her life on the Jersey shore in her beloved town of Elberon, New Jersey.

Rosaleen led a fulfilling life. She enjoyed children and worked at Elberon school for 17 years. She loved spending her summers at Takanassee Beach Club and working in her garden tending to her flowers. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends as well as cooking big feasts and cookies for her family and friends. She was a daily communicant of St. Michael's RC in West End, as well as, Holy Spirit in Lantana, Florida.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, George DeBonis; her two daughters Kathleen DeBonis of Bridgewater and Kerry DeBonis and her husband Carmen DeSheplo of Weston Florida and a son Mark DeBonis of Navato, California; her granddaughter, Isabella DeSheplo who attends the University of Alabama and her adopted son Jonathan Fraller, of Washington, DC. She is also survived by her treasured sisters Geraldine and James Erndl of Millstone, Esther Hughes of Oceanport, Eileen Jacobsen of Norfolk VA; and many nieces and nephews that are sprinkled all over the USA and world as well as beloved friends.

In her final days she reflected that she was lucky to have had an amazing life. She thanks everyone for their friendship and love for her. She felt fortunate to have been able to travel to so many places and to have so many friends and family.

Because she enjoyed making people smile and loved children, Rosaleen's favorite charity was SmileTrain. In lieu of flowers, Rosaleen requested donations to Smile Train or doing a kind deed and giving someone you love a bouquet of flowers.

Visitation Sunday, November 5th 2:00 - 5:00 pm at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. Mass of Christian Burial Monday, November 6th 10:30 am at St. Michael's RC Church, 800 Ocean Avenue, West End.
