Rose Marie Webster (nee O'Connor)

AGE: 89 • Manahawkin

Rose Marie Webster, 89, of Manahawkin, passed away Thursday June29, 2017 at her home in the loving presence of her family. Rose was born and raised in Jersey City and lived there until moving to Hazlet with her family in 1967. She most recently moved to Manahawkin in 2012. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Webster, her oldest son Robert, her sister Eileen McKenna and brothers James O'Connor, Kenneth O'Connor, and Thomas O'Connor. She is survived by her sisters Theresa Porter and Elizabeth Kelly, and her children Rosemary Johnson and husband James, Brian Webster and his wife Judith, Timothy Webster and his wife Susan, Patricia Gallivan and husband William, Michael Webster and his wife Andrea, and Pamela Sidoti and her husband Mark. In addition to her children, Rose leaves a legacy behind of 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Her grandchildren are Chris Azzari, Tracey Clery, Jaime Senard,, Michael Gallivan, Brendan Gallivan, Kaileigh Gallivan, James Webster, Victoria Webster, Grace Webster, Nick Sidoti, Luke Sidoti, Steven Sidoti, and Isabella Sidoti. Her great grandchildren include Hudson Senard, Delaney Senard, Ryan Clery, and Declan Gallivan. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Rose was a lifelong devout Catholic and an active parishioner of St. Marys of the Pines R.C. church in Manahawkin. For many years, Rose was a catechist for Holy Family Church in Union Beach and loved teaching to the young children parishioners of the church. Rose had a passion for entertaining her many family and friends, and was always at the epicenter of fun and the life of the party. Always active and on the go, Rose enjoyed the beach and spent many a summer day vacationing with her family on Long Beach Island and other top spots along the Jersey Shore. Rose was proud of her Irish heritage and passed many entertaining stories, poems, and songs of the old country to her family. As part of her legacy, she wanted nothing more than to continue to pass them to the generations to follow.

Visitation was held Friday, June 30 between the hours of 4-8pm at Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Drive, Manahawkin, NJ.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10am Saturday, July 1, at St. Marys of the Pines, 100 Bishop.
