AGE: 71 • Manasquan

Russell Frank Howland Sr., 71 of Manasquan, passed away Monday November 21, 2016 with his family by his side. He was born in Point Pleasant and was a lifelong resident of Manasquan. Russell was a graduate of Manasquan High School, where he was a member of the band and played several instruments and he was an Eagle Scout. He served his country in the Army where he was in security stationed in Germany. He was a Police Officer in Manasquan for 27 years, where he was a detective and a juvenile officer. He also worked for the Monmouth County Department of Human Services for 20 years, and he worked various part time jobs to help his family. Russell was a member of the Manasquan Elks, the Manasquan First aid squad and the past President of Wall Pop Warner Football. He loved taking day trips, boats and fishing, Nascar and the Giants, and photography.

Russell was predeceased by his son Russell Howland Jr. in 2015 and his grandson Russell F. Howland III. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Eileen Merry Howland, and his sons Robert A. and his wife Dr. Jessica M. Howland of Hamilton, and Eric J. Howland and Jillian Kaczorowski of Manasquan, his 3 grandchildren, Christopher A. and Danielle Howland of Forked River, Zachary B. and Jacob A. Howland of Hamilton.

Family and Friends are invited to attend a visitation on Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 2 pm to 5 pm at the Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan, NJ 08736. His funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 am at the Orender Family Home for Funerals. Entombment will follow at Atlantic View Cemetery, Manasquan.
