AGE: 78 • Manchester

Serge Goobic 78 of Manchester died Sunday October 22, 2017 at home. Born in Plains Twp., PA he grew up in Hackensack then moved to Bloomfield where he lived for 35 years before relocating to Manchester in 2005. He served in the Army from 1961-63, including service in Vietnam. He worked in the produce department for Kings Supermarkets for 25 years, retiring in 2006. He was an Exalted Ruler for Clifton Elks Lodge #1569 and was active fundraising for Elks Camp Moore. He was a member of the Renaissance Flying Club, Men's Club & Bocce Ball Club. He enjoyed amateur photography and computers and was an avid Jets & Mets fan. Most of all Serge enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Serge was quick with a joke, kind and loved by all who knew him. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Diana, 2 daughters, Denise Palermo & husband Luke of Bayville and Jennifer Dusenbery & husband Josh of Toms River, brother, Gordon Ross of Bozeman, MT and 2 grandchildren, Dean and Emma Palermo. Visitation is Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Rd Manchester. Funeral Service is Thursday 10 AM at the funeral home with interment to follow at Brigadier Gen Wm C Doyle NJ Veteran's Cemetery, Arneytown.
