Sharon A. Grasberger, 67, of Freehold Township died on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at home. Sharon was born in Neptune Township and lived in Lake Tillery, N.C. before returning to Freehold in 2003 to care for her sister Marianne.

After graduating from Sacred Heart College, Belmont, N.C., she started a 30-year career with the Montgomery County (N.C.) Schools as a first-grade teacher at Highland Elementary School. She later taught at almost every grade level, from the children at Mount Gilead Elementary School to the teenagers at the Anchor Alternative School. She also worked with both teachers and students as the reading specialist for the Montgomery County Schools.

She was predeceased by her parents, Paul J. Grasberger, Sr. and Mary Tabacsko Grasberger; a brother, Paul J. Grasberger, Jr in 1999, and a sister, Marianne Grasberger in 2012.

Surviving are her sister, Janet M. Koloski and husband Andrew J. Koloski; a nephew, Matthew Koloski; a sister-in-law, Myrtle S. Grasberger, two aunts, Anne T. Coyne and Jackie Tabacsko; two nieces, Kimberly and Amy Grasberger; many cousins and friends; and her dog Charlotte Anne.

A memorial gathering will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Saturday, June 10th from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold. Memorial donations to the Beauty Foundation for Cancer Care in Tinton Falls would be appreciated.
