Sheila Leder 88, of Holmdel, NJ died February 7, 2017 After a short illness. Sheila was born in Newark, NJ and grew up in Bayonne, NJ before Moving to Monmouth County 60 years ago with her husband Burton and their three children. They moved with their young family to Holmdel 54 years ago. Sheila was a lifelong educator who considered children's education a priority, especially her own. Her passion was helping children realize that fantasy and fiction had as much importance in their lives as facts and figures. Sheila held a Masters Degree in Library Science from Drexel University. For years Sheila and Burt traveled together to Philadelphia, nights and weekends to achieve her degree thus enabling her to further enlighten and direct her students. Sheila was a great story teller and story hour in the library was always a favorite of the students in Fair Haven. Burt and Sheila leder both attended Trenton State Teacher's College, now TCNJ. Having known each other from their early teen years in Bayonne, They reunited at college and fell in love. They married after graduation. They had found the loves of her life (he was like the boy next door...). They were married 63 years when Burton Passed away in 2012. Sheila was a loving wife to Burton, a dedicated giving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is Survived by her loving family: two sons and daughter-in-laws, Jeff and Cathy Leder or Freehold, NJ; Scott and Joan Leder of Manalapan NJ; her daughter Merrille Leder of Holmdel, NJ: five grandchildren: Redecca Bench, Joshua Leder, Lindsey Kaszycki, Jenna Leder and Nifla'ah Leder. Sheila also has two great grandchildren : Emma Bench and Charlotte Kaszycki. Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean Twp was in charge or the arrangements.
