Shirley Weiler-Wehrle Obituary
Shirley Weiler-Wehrle

AGE: 80 • Leonardo

Shirley Weiler-Wehrle, age 80, of Leonardo died peacefully Monday, July 17, 2017. Shirley grew up in Newark, moved to Hazlet NJ and settled in Leonardo, where she lived for more than 40 years. She was an artist, from oil paintings to sculptures to wood carving and in recent years even crocheting. Everyone she knew had hats and scarves. Shirley loved spending time with her family and her dogs, Cheyenne and Shea. In her earlier years, she was involved with the Intertribal Indians of NJ organization participating in PowWows and providing her artistic talent to make cards and shirts to benefit the organization. Shirley loved donating her artistic ability to several organizations including the Make A Wish Foundation.

Anyone who knew Shirley knew one thing she had a wonderful sense of humor and took life in stride. She was a good listener and knew how to tell a good story and always kept us laughing. She loved her family and was always there for them, whether it was to pick up the grandchildren up from school or late at night when they wanted to come home. She was a bright light in her family's life and will be greatly missed.
