Susan D. Muller Obituary
Susan D. Muller

AGE: 60 • Neptune

Susan Dolores Muller, 60, of Neptune, NJ, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016. Susan was born in Jersey City and raised in Neptune. She graduated from Holy Spirit Grammar School in Asbury Park and St. Rose High School in Belmar, and received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Boston College. Susan had a successful career in accounting and end user computing services. She was a dedicated and accomplished employee of AT&T in NJ for many years and received commendations for her creative and invaluable contributions to AT&T's business operations.

Susan was loved and admired by all who knew her for her warmth and unselfish nature, her intelligence and her seemingly endless knowledge of everything from history and literature to geography, politics, sports, and more. Only a brave man, woman, or child would dare to challenge her to a game of Jeopardy or Trivial Pursuit. Susan was also a passionate fan of the New York Yankees (perhaps to the chagrin of her brother Edward, an equally passionate Mets fan).

Susan was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, and aunt. Her family always came first. She was a prominent part of the lives or her nieces and nephews; if there was an "Aunt of the Century" award, it would have Susan's name on it.

Susan is survived by her four sisters and one brother, Mary Grogan, Joan Muller, Bernadette (Tim) Broccolo, Henry J. (Marge) Muller, Jr., and Colleen (Steve) Padnos; seven nieces and nephews, Lynn Blackburn, Denise (Dave) Pastrick, Eileen Part, Beth Muller (Susan's goddaughter), Brian Broccolo, Erin Muller and Allison Muller; five great-nieces and great nephews, Anna and Liam Blackburn, Joseph and Thomas Pastrick, and Ivy Part; and dearest family friend (and "Italian Sister"), Christina Katz. Susan is pre deceased by her parents, Harry and Marie Muller, her sister, Kathryn Muller, her brother, Edward Muller, and her brother-in-law, Tom Grogan.

Family and friends may visit from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, December 30 at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Highway 35 at New Bedford Road, Wall, NJ. The Funeral Mass celebrating Susan's life will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 31 at Holy Innocents Roman Catholic Church, 3455 West Bangs Avenue, Neptune, NJ. Services will conclude at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Susan's memory may be made to Horizons for Youth, an organization dedicated to helping children from low-resource areas of Chicago through academic scholarships, mentoring, counseling and enrichment opportunities, at or by mail to Horizons for Youth, 703 W Monroe St, Chicago, IL 60661.
