Toms River - Susan E. Wirth 74 of Toms River died Friday January 26, 2018, at her daughter's home in Delaware, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. She was born and raised in Jersey City and graduating in 1963 from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science. Susan married the love of her life Charles, in 1965, and they moved to Toms River and raised their four children. She was a Substitute teach in Toms River for many years. She owned the News Hut in Holiday City Berkeley and co-owned Charlie's Senior Tours. For 15 years, she was an active member of St Joseph's RC Church as a Eucharistic Minister, Bible Study, Sunday Suppers, Adoration Chapel, Food Pantry and her most passionate work in children's religious education. Susan was one of the kindest, loving and caring individuals; she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is predeceased by her husband Charles in 2002 and her grandson Robert Painter in 1993. Surviving are her son, Andrew Wirth and his wife Evelyn of Toms River, daughters, Ann Painter and her husband Robert of Wilmington, DE, Lauren Wirth-Nivison and her husband Edward of Jackson and Robyn Bryan and her husband Travis of Toms River; best friend and sister-in-law Dolores Chapter, Lakewood; brothers, Thomas Chapter of Las Vegas, Charles Chapter of Toms River and Robert Chapter of Forked River; 9 incredibly loved grandchildren; and her dear friend and caregiver, Lina. Visitation is Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Rd Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Tuesday 10 AM at St Joseph's Church, Toms River.
