Susan Fatula 96 years old of Whiting passed away May 21, 2017. Born March 25, 1921 in Morea, Pennsylvania in their family home, Susan Fatula went on to create a life of making everyone feel at home each time they had a chance to be with her. She lead a life of complete service to her family, friends and her church. For more than 50 years Susan worked as the housekeeper, designer (studied design in New York), and chef for the Byzantine Catholic Church for Monsignor William Lesko in Detroit MI, Gary IN and Merrillville IN and for Monsignor Allen Borsak in Danbury Connecticut, Manville NJ and Hillsborough NJ. She was predeceased by her father and mother, John and Mary Fatula, her sister Mary Kahanick, and her brother John Fatula Jr. She is survived by her nephew Michael Fatula (spouse Wayne Yoshizaki), niece Delia Lafferty (spouse Robert Lafferty) and niece Doreen Fatula (spouse Martine Faist); grand niece Nadya Borst (spouse Eric Borst), grand niece Nicole Lafferty and grand nephew Michael Lafferty (spouse Rachel Lafferty); great great nephew Bryce Borst and great great nieces Kayla Borst and Edith Lafferty. Susan was an artist in her work and a master of love towards all her family and friends. Susan was a Christian in the truest sense of the word, having the qualities lived and taught by Jesus Christ: love, kindness and goodness.
