Suzanne McGrady Obituary
Suzanne McGrady

Point Pleasant - Suzanne McGrady, 67, of Point Pleasant, formerly of Wall Township passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at her home. Suzanne was born on January 7, 1951, in New Brunswick, the oldest daughter of Vera and Charles (Chick) Weckel. She attended Metuchen High School and graduated with a bachelor's degree of fine arts from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. After raising her children, Suzanne worked as an interior designer and was featured in Better Homes and Gardens Magazine. Her true passion in life was volunteering. She was a hospice volunteer for over five years. Thereafter, she volunteered weekly for eight years at the Center in Asbury Park, a volunteer based New Jersey not-for-profit service organization providing support services for people living with HIV / AIDs and their caregivers. Her "Thursday crew" at the Center became like family to her.

Suzanne is survived by her husband, Chip of 41 years. They both loved going to the beach together and like a true Jersey couple originally met at the Osprey in Manasquan. Suzanne is survived by her two children, Kyle McGrady and his wife, Donna and Kelly Cosgrove and her husband, Patrick; two grandchildren, Ethan and Brady Cosgrove; her sister, Cathy Papp and her husband, Charles; her baby brother, Charlie Weckel and his wife, Nancy, as well as many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Suzanne and Chip's home on Tuesday, March 20,, 2018 from 3pm to 8pm at 1910 Beach Boulevard, Point Pleasant, NJ. A private "celebration of life" will be held in Asbury Park at a later date. Since Sue did not see her passing as an end but rather a new beginning, we encourage everyone to wear color in celebration of her life instead of black.

Instead of flowers, please consider making a donation in Suzanne's name to the Center in Asbury Park, New Jersey. http://www.thecenterinap.org/
