Theodore "Ted" Gordon Busfield, Jr.

AGE: 73 • Whiting, NJ

Theodore Gordon Busfield, Jr., "Ted", 73, of Whiting passed away on Friday, December 9, 2016 at Deborah Hospital in Browns Mills. Mr. Busfield was a designing engineer for many years at ASI Signs Systems in Dallas, TX before retiring 11 years ago. He proudly served in the US Coast Guard Reserves and had a passion for all things maritime. Ted volunteered at ReClam the Bay in Barnegat and was most happy spending time on the boat with his family and marina friends. He also had a passion for aviation. Ted had his small plane pilot license and was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association, EAA, where he participated in building an aircraft from scratch with other enthusiasts.

Ted was born and raised in the Vailsburg section of Newark and graduated from Central High School. He raised his family in Highland Lakes, NJ and lived in Dallas, TX before moving to Whiting 10 years ago.

Mr. Busfield was predeceased by his parents, Theodore Sr. and Genevieve Busfield. Surviving are his daughters, Anne Nissim and her husband, Jeff of Brielle, Michele Ellis and her husband, Todd of Lincroft; brothers, Bruce Busfield and his wife, Betty of Middletown, Bob Busfield and his wife, Linda of Mandeville, LA; grandchildren, Janel, Isaac, and Alexandra Nissim and Tyler and Hudson Ellis. He also leaves his former wife, Gerry Busfield of Ocean Twp.; many nieces and nephews; as well as his beloved friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Visiting will be on Tuesday from 4-8pm at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A remembrance of Ted's life will be conducted at 7:30pm in the funeral home.
