AGE: 80 • Brick

Thomas J Bevan 80 of Brick NJ passed away peacefully at his home on Friday January 20, 2017. Tom was born in Scranton PA and moved with his parents to Cranford at an early age.

After graduating from Cranford High School in 1954 he enlisted in the US Navy as a radio operator leaving the service in December of 1957.

He met the love of his life Audrey in 1958 and remained married for 56 years. They settled in Cranford where they raised three children.

Tom became an electrician with Local 675 IBEW where he worked for almost 40 years as foreman and general foreman for numerous projects in northern NJ. He also served on the unions executive board and apprenticeship board before retiring in 1996 at the age of 59. Tom was a member of the Navy USS Roanoke CL 145 ship and served as the reunions treasurer.

Upon retirement, Tom and Audrey moved to the Jersey shore. Both avid golfer's they were members of the Renaissance Golf Club in Manchester NJ and Lyons Head South in Brick NJ. They spent much of their time travelling and playing golf throughout the country.

Tom enjoyed cooking his "famous" baked ziti for family gatherings. He could often be found on the sidelines or in the stands of his numerous grandchildren's events and never turned down an opportunity to go golfing.

Tom was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be sorely missed by his wife Audrey and entire family. In addition to his wife Audrey, Tom leaves behind 3 children, a daughter Debra and her husband Jerry of Point Pleasant Beach NJ. His son Tom and his wife Jan of Palm City FL. and son Jim and his wife Kim also of Brick NJ. Nine grandchildren Kelly, Kurt, Heather, Jeremy, Danny, Tommy, Gracie, John and Katie. And two great grandchildren Caleb and Sarah.

He also leaves behind a sister Jean Clarke and her husband Matt of Stateline NV and was predeceased by his brother Jack.

Memorial service will be held on January 25 from 6 to 8 PM at Silverton Memorial Funeral Home 2482 Church Road, Toms River NJ 08753. Donations may be made in Tom's name to the Children's Tumor Foundation at WWW.CTF.Org. www.silver tonmemorial.com.
