Eatontown - Tommy "Fu Han" Tang, 100, of Eatontown passed away on Sunday, February 4. 2018. Born and raised in China, Mr. Tang worked with the Merchant Marines before coming to Eatontown and opening Tang's Chinese Restaurant in Eatontown, then Tang's Chinese Restaurant in Red Bank and finally New Tang's Chinese Restaurant in Belmar, before retiring in 1990. Mr. Tang served many their first Chinese meal in Monmouth County, also taking the secret of his homemade duck sauce with him to his grave. Mr. Tang was predeceased by his first wife. Mona Tang in 1987. He is survived by his loving wife Helen "Hai Ping" Tang, loving children Kwong Hai Tang and his wife Xiu Hua, Mae Lee Tang Gilroy and her husband Phil, Timothy Tang, and Mae-Lin Tang and Mae-Yung Tang. Cherished grandfather of Jack Tang, Wei Tang, Crystal Bell, TJ Tang, Philip Gilroy, and Asia Grace Gilroy; and 5 great-grandchildren. Family and friends may gather at Braun Funeral Home, 106 Broad Street, Eatontown on Wednesday February 7, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Burial will be private.
