Victor Poetto 91 of Leisure Village West, Manchester died Saturday, September 9, at home. Born in New York City, he lived in the Bronx, and Mt Vernon, NY before moving to Manchester in 1991. He was employed for 26 years with the Local #3, IBEW, New York as an Electronics Field Technician with the Trans- Lux Corporation, Long Island City, NY before retiring in 1990. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He served as Post Commander with the VFW, Post #7904, and belonged to the Knights of Columbus, Council 9134 both in Leisure Village West. He was also a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, McMahon Assembly, Toms River. He was a parishioner of St John's Church, Lakehurst. He is predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Rose (Bonjiorno) Poetto, who died in 2009. Surviving are 3 nieces, Gloria Hill, Lorraine McCormick, and Pauline Pantin, and a nephew, Paul Poetto. Visitation is Tuesday from 4-6 pm at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Wednesday at 10:00 am at St John's Church, Lakehurst with entombment to follow at the Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
