Walter F. Trevors


Walter F. Trevors, of Highlands and Robbinsville, father, grandfather, husband and friend passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017.

Walt was born to Katherine (Duffy) and George Trevors in Brooklyn, NY. He was brought up in Highlands and lived in Brick for many years. Walt was a graduate of Red Bank Catholic and Seton Hall University. He honorably served in the US Navy as a Corpsman attached to the Marines during the Korean War. Walt was a Lieutenant in the New Jersey State Police and retired after 30 years. He then worked as an investigator in the Criminal Justice Division of the State Attorney General's Office.

Walt enjoyed the beach, especially Sandy Hook, football, baseball, his cars, meals with family and friends, travelling and telling stories about his life experiences. Some of his favorites were playing baseball against Whitey Ford, guarding President Johnson and meeting the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. He loved music and liked to sing. He was a very proud member of the Ocean Grove Choir of the Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove, NJ for the past 14 years. He was also a member of the Highlands Historical Society.

He was predeceased by his parents, his brother, Capt. George Trevors USN, and his wife Mona M. Trevors. He is survived by his wife Margaret (Adams); his three children, Chris and his wife Jacqueline of Brick, Dawn of Valley Mills, TX and Jennifer of Yardville, NJ; his beloved grandsons, Colin and Bryan of Brick and Brendan, USAF, Anchorage, AK. Also mourning his loss are his stepson, Dan Tote; stepdaughter, Donna Marchionni and her husband Greg of MA, their children, Matt and Steven and many friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 27th at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown from 4 to 8pm and again on Friday, April 28th for 9:15 to 10:15am. Relatives and friends are invited to gather for a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, April 28th at 11am at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 555 Yardville Allentown Rd., Yardville, NJ.
