AGE: 69 •

William Christopher "Chris" Whitehouse passed away at home on November 6, 2017 at the age of 69. He was a wonderful husband, father, and friend to all who knew him.

He was born in New York City on August 10, 1948. He graduated St Michaels College and Drake University law school in Iowa. Upon graduating, became a loyal public servant as Assistant Prosecutor for Hudson County for 32 years, serving as head of the Grand Jury unit and the CEDU unit. Additionally he served as a deputy Attorney General assigned to the Racketeering and Drug Enforcement Task Force. He retired in 2006.

Chris was also an avid volunteer for the community, serving as club leader for the Monmouth 4-H Blasters Model Rocketry Club as well as being a fixture with the Monmouth County 4-H Fair.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Mary Elizabeth Garrity, two children, William Charles and Leigh Elizabeth and her husband, JohnMichael Ayers, and sister, Signe Timm and her husband Gary Timm. Additionally, he is survived by his sister-in-law, Holly Garrity Haliskoe, her husband, Gary Haliskoe, and their 2 children, Graham and Jillian. He was predeceased by his parents William Anthony and Cecilia Dorothy Whitehouse. He will be remembered fondly by his many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 31 Asbury Avenue, Farmingdale on Monday at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to a charity of your choosing would be appreciated.
