AGE: 83 • Wall

William "Chiefy" Coleman, 83, formerly of Rumson and most recently of Wall passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 30, 2017 at his home with his family by his side.

He was born in Jersey City, NJ on March 11, 1934 to Laura and William C. Coleman. Bill was born and raised in Jersey City and was a graduate of Lincoln High School.

He worked his entire career as a transportation sales executive with Cooper Motor Lines and Swift Transportation Company.

He was a devout Catholic and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, brother and friend.

Bill loved boating, golf, family, friends and long lunches. His presence lit up any room he walked into and he made every individual in his path feel special.

Bill was predeceased by his sister Elinor Sweeney and his son-in-law Jimbo Coolahan.

Bill is survived by his wife of 36 years Dorothy (nee Karczewski) Coleman of Wall; his son John and daughter-in-law Marybeth, four daughters Holly Wilson and her husband John; Susan Coolahan and her husband Eddie; Nancy Coolahan and Joanne Clarke and her husband Hubie. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren; Cole Wilson, Justin and Sean Coolahan, Meighan Madden, Erin and Michael Kelly, Shannon and Ryan Coolahan and a great granddaughter Sadie Coolahan.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday September 4, 2107 from 12 noon to 4 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan, NJ 08736.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 am Tuesday September 5, 2017 at St. Denis Church, Manasquan. Interment will be private.
