Iselin - William P. Henkel, 89, of Iselin, passed away peacefully at the Applewood Retirement Community in Freehold on Monday, December 11, 2017.

William was born in Orange, NJ and was raised in Bloomfield where he graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1946 and later Rider College in 1950. He worked as the VP of Finance at International Wire Products Inc. (subsidiary of Carlisle Corp.) William moved to Iselin in 1962 where he resided with his family until 2010, when he moved to the Applewood Retirement Community in Freehold. William served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He was also very involved in the daily activities and organizations within Applewood, including planting tomatoes, zucchini, peppers, cucumbers and a variety of flowers each summer.

William was predeceased by his wife, Jean (Barrett); his parents, William and Katherine; & his brother-in-laws, Matthew Andolino and Tom Engelhard.

William is survived by his 4 sons, William D. and his wife Laurie of Manalapan, Glenn A. and his wife Molly of Moorestown, John D. and his wife Michelle of Henderson, NV, and Robert J. of Nyack NY; 3 grandchildren, Arthur W., Leeann, & Jack; 3 step-grandchildren, Anthony, Charlotte, & Drew; a sister, Rita Andolino of Clifton; a brother, George B. and his wife Connie of Brooksville, ME; and his sister-in-law Dolores Engelhard of Fenton MO.

Services will take place on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 9:30AM from the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 1225 Green St. & Cooper Ave. Iselin, followed by a 10AM Funeral Mass at St. Cecelia RC Church in Iselin. The entombment will be at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.

Visitation is on Friday, December 15, 2017 from 3-5 & 7-9PM.
