AGE: 89 • Beach Haven Terrace, NJ & Punta Gorda, FL

William P. Trube, 89, of Punta Gorda, Florida and Beach Haven Terrace, New Jersey, passed away on January 22, 2017. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 10 am to 12 pm at Bugbee Riggs Funeral Home, 1119 Long Beach Boulevard, Ship Bottom, NJ. Burial was held on Tuesday, January 31 at Hanover Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ.

William was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania on September 12, 1927. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He raised his family, working as a carpenter and craftsman, while living in Chatham Township, New Jersey for over 35 years. He served as a Building Inspector, Zoning Officer and Fire Subcode Official, and he was a volunteer fireman for many years with the Chatham Township Volunteer Fire Company. He relocated to Punta Gorda, Florida in 1987, spending summers at his home on Long Beach Island, New Jersey.

William was an award-winning master woodcarver and member of the Charlotte County Woodcarvers in Florida and Long Beach Island Woodcarvers in New Jersey. He was always willing to share his artistic gifts and knowledge with his fellow artists.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Carolyn (nee Ross) Trube, and four sons: Kenneth of Barnegat, New Jersey; William and his wife Patricia of Barnegat, New Jersey; Aaron of Beach Haven Terrace, New Jersey; Ross and his wife Diane of East Windsor, New Jersey; grandchildren Erik Trube of Barnegat, New Jersey; Kenneth Trube and Emily Trube of East Windsor, New Jersey; James Trube and his wife Vickie of Palm City, Florida; great-grandchildren Brian Trube and Dylan Trube of Palm City, Florida, and Andrew Dudenhoeffer of Meadville, Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers, donations in William's memory may be made to the Friends of Southern Ocean County Animal Shelter, 360 Haywood Rd., Manahawkin, NJ 08050.
