AGE: 79 • Bay Head

Wini passed away peacefully on October 2. She was born in Newark, where she attended grammar school and participated in diving and synchronized swimming. She graduated from Metuchen High School in 1955, where she was a cheerleader. Wini took night courses at Rutgers, while working at New Jersey Bell, her employer of 17 years. She later was a self employed free lance floral designer. She was a dedicated member of St Paul's Church. At the Bay Head Yacht Club she served on numerous committees, played tennis and paddle and crewed on her husband's M Scow for many years.

Wini was active in National Garden Clubs, serving as co-chair of a national committee, President of the New Jersey chapter and two term President of the local Seaweeders Club. She was a passionate advocate of environmental causes, being on the board of both Clean Ocean Action and Save Barnegat Bay. She was active in the community, including serving as chairman of Bay Head's Centennial celebration in 1986, which included construction of Centennial Park.

Wini received numerous awards, including the Ocean County Hidden Heroine, Daughter's of the American Revolution, Pt. Pleasant Chamber of Commerce Community Service, Rotary Club Paul Harris Fellow and NJ Navy League Woman of the Year for her work as Director of St Gregory's Pantry.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years Bob, her son Scott and his wife Jennifer and their children Ellie, Mary and Anna "The Girls," a step son Robert, and a brother in law Michael Feravolo and his children Michelle, Monica and Michael.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, October 22nd at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, West Lake & Bridge Avenues, Bay Head.
