I cannot even express how saddened I was to learn of John's death. He was a kind, warmhearted, caring & funny man. Five year's ago this past July, John stopped me for what seemed, I'm sure, like a very routine encounter-I had a headlight out. But, instead, that night I went into cardiac arrest. John called for back-up & performed CPR. Over the 2 weeks I was in ICU, John visited nearly every day. I recall nothing of that period, but family & friends have recounted many times how kind John was to all of them, taking the time to listen & to lighten the mood some. And, when I was transferred to a room, John visited, bringing me flowers. I was touched beyond belief. Over the course of the following years, I had occasion to run into John sometimes, & his smile & laughter were welcome reminders of why so many people loved him. I will remember him, always, not only because of that night, but also because he was rare.
I send my deepest sympathy. I am so sorry for your loss; you are in my thoughts.

I will always remember John as one of our friendliest students, with his never-ending smile. Whenever I would pass him on the corridors of New York Law School he would always stop to chat. He was a warm human being. To his precious wife and daughters I offer my heartfelt condolences. He was a great man.
