Judith Conner Foley, age 67 of Ocean Grove, died Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Born in Montclair she was raised in Bloomfield. She was a 1965 graduate of Bloomfield High School. Judith married Michael Joseph Foley in 1976 and together they raised their children, Shaun and Jennifer, in Fair Haven.

She worked in the Marketing and Sales Department of Bell Atlantic for 30 years before retiring. After her retirement she chose to begin her second career as an Administrative Assistant at Tower Hill Presbyterian Church and later at Brick Presbyterian Church. She was a long time member, Elder and Clerk of Session at the First Presbyterian Church of Long Branch.

Judith loved working with children. She taught Sunday School for 43 years, was a Cub Scout Den Mother, a softball coach and for 16 years, taught ceramics and other classes for the Monmouth County Park System. Judith was diagnosed with ALS in 2013; she continued to give back to the community, as much and as long as she could, to continue making a difference in others' lives.

She was predeceased by her father, Charles Edward Conner and her mother, Elizabeth Gebel Conner; the mother who raised her, Eleanor Mitchell Conner and her dear friend Lynn Lamberson. Surviving are her daughter, Jennifer Mary Foley; a son, Cpl. Shaun Charles Foley, United States Marine Corps.; 5 sisters, Joyce Wagner Neuenhaus and her late husband Kenneth; Lisbeth Conner Weber and her husband Wallace; Judith Wagner and her husband Anthony; Linda Conner Groff and her husband Daniel; and Grace Wagner Westling and her husband Ron; 14 nieces and nephews, 20 great nieces and nephews; her former husband Michael Joseph Foley; brothers in law, Thomas Foley and wife Sheila; John Foley and his wife Linda; 6 nieces and nephews; and many great friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue (corner of Third Ave.), Long Branch. Funeral Friday, 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church of Long Branch. Memorial donations are requested to the First Presbyterian Church, 167 Cedar Ave., Long Branch, NJ 07740.
