Robert Penrose Obituary
AGE: 89 • Point Pleasant Borough
Robert F. Penrose Sr., 89, of Point Pleasant Borough, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at Laurelton Village LTC, Brick. Born in New Market, NJ, he has resided in Point Pleasant Borough for the past 55 years. He was a U.S Navy veteran serving in Scotland and France during World War II. He was a Normandy Beach survivor and held the rank Hospital Corpsman, Pharmacist Mate 2nd Class. He was a licensed sea captain and shared many happy days at sea with his son. Bob was general manager for Ray Auer Buick in Lakewood before retiring.
He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Jennie Penrose; two brothers, Thomas and Arthur; a sister, Lillian DellBeni; and his daughter, Jane A. Dafeldecker. He is survived by his dear wife of 65 years, the former Dorothy Collier; his daughter and son-in-law, Rosemarie and William House; his son and daughter-in-law, Robert F. Penrose Jr. and Jacqueline Kiel Penrose; son-in-law, Robert Dafeldecker; eight grandchildren; and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial chapel service on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 10:30 a.m., at the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. Arrangements are under the direction of the Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan.

Dear Dorothy and family.
We are sincerely sorry to hear about Bob's passing. He is in a better place now. He is in God's house.
With deepest sympathy to all of you for your loss. Bob was a very nice person.

Bob was my brother-in-law for almost 32 years - - I will remember him for his fun-loving spirit and the pride he had for his family - he loved to regale to Art and me many stories of your accomplishments. I remember how his face would light up when we would visit him during these past 4+ years in the nursing home. He so enjoyed watching the Jets with his brother, Art, on a Sunday afternoon. Coping with the loss of a spouse or a parent is extremely difficult . . my heart goes out to all of you.

I will always treasure the visits with Uncle Bob in 2008 and 2009. He will be missed by us, but we all know he is now at peace. He is happily reunited with his parents, his two brothers, his sister and his daughter. God bless him always!!!
