AGE: 78 • Somerset

Eleanor Russo, 78, died on February 9, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 26, 1934 to her dear parents Rosario and Sara Maneri Spera. Eleanor moved to Somerset NJ in 1962, resided in Bridgewater and Whitehouse Station before relocating back to Somerset about five years ago. Eleanor was an Executive Assistant to the President of the Carrier Corporation in the late 50's and after raising her family, she returned to work at Whittaker, Clarke and Daniel in South Plainfield; and was the past President of the Rosary Altar Society at St. Matthias Church in Somerset. Her most treasured times were with her family especially at family celebrations, supporting her children and grandchildren at their sporting events and traveling with her husband and family especially to the Jersey Shore, Orlando, and on Cruises. Eleanor was known for her warm smile, caring ways, devotion to her dear family, and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Eleanor is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph P. Russo of 54 years; her loving children, Pam (Larry) Mayewski of Belle Mead and Peter (Holly) Russo of Shelton, CT; a dear sister, Geraldine Dalisa of California; four wonderful grandchildren, Brandon and Rebecca Russo, Matthew and Bryan Mayewski; and several nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the Bongiovi Funeral Home, 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ 08869 (908-725-1887). Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 starting with a visitation from 8:30 to 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass at St. Ann's Church, 45 Anderson Street, Raritan, NJ 08869. Entombment in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
