Carla Holland Obituary
Carla Elaine Holland, age 60 of Smyrna, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Orman Ferrell and Clara Elizabeth Ferrell Petty, and a brother, Danny Ferrell.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m., at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna. Pastor George Jackson will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Holland is survived by David R. Holland; daughter, Michelle Leigh Holland; son, Daniel Holland and his wife Jenna; daughter, Lindsay Tinker and her husband Jeremy, all of Smyrna, TN; brothers, Rick Ferrell and his wife Sheila of San Saba, TX, and James "Hot Jimmy" Ferrell and his wife Sherri of Cocoa, FL; and grandchildren, Michael Keith Holland, J.J. Michael Tinker and Meleia Ericka Holland, all of Smyrna.
Mrs. Holland was a member of World Outreach Church and was a 1971 graduate of Smyrna High School. She was employed with Ingram as an occupational health and wellness instructor.
Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers.
Memorials can be made to the American Red Cross (2201 Charlotte Ave., Nashville, TN 37203).
Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna, (615) 459-3254. Online condolences can be made at www.woodfinchapel.com

Book is about to close.. This means you have been gone a while now.. over a year and i can still feel the pains of the day and the days before and days after. Don't think they will ever change.. May get less but never gone. I miss you more than my words will ever be able to describe. My candle will always burn bright for you and my heart will always have a hole for you. 4/24/14 Today just by chance I learned of Carla's passing. I knew her while I worked at Ingram and enjoyed all her classes, advice and friendship. She was always so energetic and friendly. I'm so sorry for her family's loss. Lynn S.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Carla and found her to be a loving, genuine and truly very kind person.
The world is a little less bright with her passing and I shall miss her smile and hearing her laugh. She was a wonderful soul.
If I had known of her passing I would have been at the funeral but please understand she was loved by many of her coworkers.

I am so sorry for your loss Leigh. I am so glad I got to see your mom several times before her death here on Earth. She will never have to experience death again. She has eternal life to look forward to now. Praise God that we will all see each other again one day!

We will miss Carla so much. When I read about her passing, it hit me especially hard. Growing up in Smyrna and knowing her since high school has been special to me. Moving to Smyrna was a bit scary for me but everyone in Smyrna has always been great and Carla was a big part of that. As well as all the great ladies from the Class of 71. I will miss her classic chin up smile and her tremendous spirit. I want to express my sympathies to David, her wonderful brothers, and her children.

It has been such a priviledge to know and work with Carla for so many years at Ingram. Even now, I expect to see her smiling face in the office at the wellness center. Carla was my friend. She always had kind words to say to me when I would go workout in the mornings after work. Her encouraging words kept me going when I didn't feel like it. First of all, I would never have guessed this ball of energy was 60-- I honestly thought she was in her 40s. Carla was in a WW@work session with me and it was so motivating to see her take part with the rest of us who must have been thinking, "She doesn't need to be on WW- she must be here for our inspiration!" Carla's name is synonymous with "improvement," "striving," "believing in oneself," "never giving up." We all thought the world of her and it won't be the same at Ingram without her.
