Munroe "Bud" C. Hawes, Jr.

AGE: 90 • Brielle

Munroe "Bud" C. Hawes, Jr., 90, of Brielle, died Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at his home. Born in Miami, FL, he lived in Sea Girt and Manasquan, before moving to Brielle in 1956. Mr. Hawes worked for Standard Oil in Venezuela prior to joining his father in the family business, Hawes and McAfee, Inc. in Manasquan. He later took over the business and retired in 2006. Bud was a WWII veteran of the United States Navy and a 1946 graduate of Yale University. He was an active member of the Spring Lake-Brielle Rotary Club and earned the distinguished Paul Harris Award.

Mr. Hawes was predeceased by his wife Lois in 1991 and is survived by his daughter Dr. Barbara Hawes, with whom he lived, his sons, Munroe C. III of Brielle and James D. of Altoona, PA; four grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Visitation will be on Sunday, May 31, 2015 from 2-4pm at the Neary Quinn Funeral Home, 39 South Street, Manasquan, NJ. Graveside Services will be held on Monday, June 1, 2015 at 11am at Monmouth Memorial Park Cemetery in Tinton Falls.
